The newest GTA 6 gameplay didn't come from a trailer. It came from South Park.
The show's October 28 episode, Guinea Pig on a Stick, cut to about 17 seconds of footage from the game, and the end credits say it was provided courtesy of Rockstar Games. That makes it official footage, just shown somewhere nobody expected.
What does the South Park clip actually show?
It starts with Jason and Lucia walking along a busy Vice City beach. Then the camera drops into normal third-person play with Jason, with the HUD and minimap on screen, so this is the game running rather than a cutscene.
Jason picks up a bag of dog poop and throws it at a sunbather. The people around react, and that's about it. It's short, it's gross, and it's exactly the kind of joke South Park would want in an episode.
It's also the first new official gameplay since the launch trailer on October 15, which is why it spread so fast.
Why would Rockstar give footage to South Park?
Rockstar hasn't said, but the timing explains a lot. The game is three weeks away, and a cameo in one of TV's most-watched animated shows reaches people who don't follow gaming news at all. It fits with the rest of the launch push, from the Miami takeover to the Extended Look on Netflix in August.
What's new with the police?
The same week, Rockstar's Rob Nelson spoke to Edge magazine about how police work in GTA 6, and Dexerto pulled out the highlights:
- K9 units. In a demo, police dogs chased Jason and pinned him to the ground.
- Spike strips during car chases.
- Evidence matters. Destroying a car removes a piece of evidence, but officers get suspicious if you're still wearing the same outfit.
That last point suggests changing clothes after a crime could actually help you lose a wanted level, which would be a big change from GTA 5. We'll confirm how it works once the game is out.
Is any of this a leak?
No. Unlike the Cyberleek clips, this footage was handed over by Rockstar and credited on screen, and the police details come from a Rockstar studio head. We label it Likely only because Rockstar hasn't posted the clip on its own channels yet.
