Rockstar spent years barely saying anything about GTA 6. Now, with three weeks to go, it's trying to make Miami feel like it already lives inside the game.

Vice City has always been Rockstar's version of Miami, and the marketing has leaned into that hard since September. Here's everything that's shown up in the real city so far.

The rooftop sign

The first big one arrived in September: a Welcome to Vice City sign on the roof of the Kaseya Center, where the Miami Heat play. It's visible from the bay and from planes coming into the city, and it was all over social media within hours.

Reports put a price on the deal, but the figures don't match each other and seem to cover different agreements, so we're leaving the numbers out until something solid shows up.

Beach chairs, a blimp and banner planes

After the sign came the smaller stuff, which in some ways worked better. Vice City-branded beach chairs and umbrellas appeared on Miami beaches. A Vice City blimp has been floating over the city, and planes have been dragging banners along the coast. Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Dolphins, was covered in GTA 6 ads for a weekend.

Creative Bloq also spotted a run of cheeky street ads in the city that look like they were lifted straight from the game's parody billboards.

The TikTok that cost someone a job

The strangest story came out of the beach campaign. A TikTok creator, Graham Simmon, posted a short clip of the branded beach gear before it was meant to be public. He told Kotaku the video had fewer than 1,000 views and that he was asked to take it down. By then it had been copied everywhere, across X, Instagram and TikTok, and it went viral anyway.

He says he was then fired by the company he worked for. Rockstar hasn't commented on his account, so this is his side of the story.

Real cars, in-game paint jobs

Rockstar has also reportedly been modifying real cars to look like vehicles from the game and driving them around Miami. It's a smart trick. People film them in traffic, and suddenly the game's cars are showing up in fans' own videos and feeds.

If you want to see what those cars are based on, our GTA 6 vehicle garage lists every car and boat confirmed so far.

A Night in Vice City

The biggest date on the calendar is November 18. The Miami Heat home game that night is reportedly branded A Night in Vice City. It's the night before launch, and it's also the day reviews are reportedly set to go live, so expect a lot of GTA 6 noise from Miami all evening.

Why Miami, and why now

The timing isn't an accident. Real-world stunts like these give fans something to film and share, and that keeps GTA 6 trending without Rockstar needing to release another trailer. It also reminds everyone that Vice City is coming back for the first time since 2002, which is still the series' most-loved setting for a lot of players.

We'll keep adding to this list as new stunts show up. If you spot something in Miami, let us know through the contact page.
