What Rockstar Confirmed

The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI just got its biggest milestone yet. Rockstar Games officially revealed the game's cover art on June 18, 2026 and confirmed that pre-orders open on Thursday, June 25, 2026 across digital storefronts and select retailers for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The announcement marks the official start of Rockstar's summer marketing push — something Take-Two had been teasing on earnings calls for months.

The Release Date Is Still Locked

Despite two earlier delays, the launch date has not moved. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnik and Rockstar have repeatedly reaffirmed a November 19, 2026 release.

"That's not the plan," Zelnik said earlier this year when asked about a digital-only launch — confirming physical discs ship day one too.

Here's the timeline so far:

  1. Dec 2023 — GTA 6 revealed with a 2025 window
  2. May 2025 — delayed to May 26, 2026
  3. Nov 2025 — delayed again to Nov 19, 2026 for "additional polish"

What's Still Unknown

  • Price — Rockstar has not confirmed pricing or editions yet. Analysts have floated a possible $80–$100 tag, but nothing is official.
  • Trailer 3 — not announced, though Rockstar traditionally drops trailers on Tuesdays, so fans are watching the pre-order window closely.
  • PC version — still console-exclusive at launch, with no PC date announced.
